100,000 tourists annually visit Afghanistan

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Kazakhstan’s KazTAG news agency reported on Friday that approximately 100,000 tourists visit Afghanistan annually.

According to the report, tourism sector generates one billion afghani ($14.5 million) a year. Spokesman for Ministry of Information and Culture, Haroon Hakimi, said the tourists visit 200 sites in 12 provinces of the country.

The tourists’ inflow has witnessed reduction by five percent.  Over one hundred historical sites have been restored in the country.
