AT-KABUL: At least 16 armed militants were killed and eight others wounded after clashes with Afghan forces in western Badghis province, police officials said.

Afghan police forces killed 16 Taliban fighters and wounded eight others during conflict in Jawand district of Badghis province, said statement issued by MoI.

The insurgents attacked police check post, when faced, counterattack, which lead to killing of 16 and wounded of eight militants, added statement.

No casualty reported among police and civilians during clashes, underlined the statement.
