KABUL – Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, emphasized the Taliban government’s commitment to a balanced and economically focused foreign policy during his address at the Tehran Dialogue Forum. He stated that Afghanistan aims to maintain neutrality and avoid regional confrontations, seeking constructive engagement with all neighboring countries.
Muttaqi highlighted the Taliban’s efforts to establish an inclusive political structure and called on regional nations to support Afghanistan’s stability, asserting that a strong Afghan government benefits the entire region. He also addressed concerns about terrorist groups, noting that Da’esh has been largely eliminated within Afghanistan, and urged neighboring countries to assist in countering external propaganda that threatens regional security.
The Tehran Dialogue Forum, hosted by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brings together delegations from over 50 countries to discuss regional cooperation and global peace. Muttaqi’s participation underscores the Taliban’s efforts to engage diplomatically with the international community and reshape Afghanistan’s foreign relations.
