KABUL – Pakistani security forces carried out drone and rocket strikes in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeting the villages of Muski and Dagoo. The attacks left at least one person dead and seven others injured, including women and children, prompting condemnation from the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), which described the strikes as part of ongoing military operations affecting civilian populations.
In North Waziristan, security forces intercepted a vehicle-borne suicide bomber in the Jhallar area, killing three militants linked to the group “Fitna al-Khawarij” and preventing a potentially catastrophic attack. Meanwhile, in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, insurgents kidnapped 13 construction workers, highlighting the continuing security challenges in the region.
Between 24 and 25 October, nationwide counterterrorism operations in Bajaur, Hangu, and North Waziristan resulted in the deaths of at least 12 militants. Authorities say these operations are part of a broader effort to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent cross-border attacks, though the ongoing violence continues to raise concerns about civilian safety and regional stability.
The combination of drone and rocket strikes, counterterrorism operations, and insurgent activity underscores the persistent security challenges facing Pakistan, particularly in its border regions, where civilians remain at risk amid escalating tensions.
