Following U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, a number of countries and senior officials have issued serious reactions.
Pakistan condemned the U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which came after a series of Israeli strikes. According to the Pakistani government, the country is deeply concerned about the further escalation of tensions in the region.
In a statement published on X, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said: “The unprecedented rise in tensions and violence following continued aggression against Iran is extremely concerning. Any further escalation will have highly destructive consequences for the region and beyond.”
The Secretary-General of the United Nations also reacted to the U.S. military attacks on the Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear sites, calling the move a dangerous escalation of tensions in the region. He urged restraint and a return to diplomacy.
Antonio Guterres stated in a post on X that he is deeply concerned about the United States’ use of force against Iran’s nuclear facilities. He described the attacks as a direct threat to international peace and security.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, former head of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, also condemned the U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling them a clear act of aggression.
The Kuwaiti government also condemned the attacks and called for restraint.
CNN, citing two informed sources, reported that the United States used the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) in its operation against the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites. This 13.6-ton bomb, containing 2.7 tons of explosives, is designed to destroy hardened underground facilities.
Iran has stated that the nuclear facilities were not damaged as a result of the attacks.
