AT Kabul: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded defiantly to a recent warning from U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring in a video message that “Iran will never surrender.” His remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region and an ongoing Israeli military campaign targeting Iranian assets.
Khamenei revealed that Iranian officials had been engaged in diplomatic negotiations when Israel launched its military offensive. “They attacked while we were talking,” he said, adding that this act showed the true intentions of Tehran’s adversaries.
In the same message, the Supreme Leader called on the Iranian people to maintain calm and continue with their daily lives despite the unfolding events. However, he warned that any military action by the United States would come at a “heavy cost.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced on Wednesday that its air force is currently striking military targets of the Islamic Republic in Tehran. Local sources have reported several explosions across the Iranian capital, though details remain unconfirmed.
The situation marks a dangerous escalation in the region, with international observers expressing concern over the possibility of a broader conflict.
