The BBC has stated that reports circulated on social media and by some Indian media outlets claiming that Pakistan’s Karachi Port was targeted by India are completely baseless.
According to the BBC, the claims made by Indian media are false. The BBC’s correspondent, who is currently present at the port, has reported that no damage has been inflicted on Karachi Port and that the conflicting reports are entirely untrue.
BBC reports that numerous old videos have resurfaced online, fueling rumors of an Indian attack on Karachi Port. Following this, some Indian citizens expressed joy, claiming it marked the beginning of a war.
Meanwhile, a video was widely shared on social media showing a plane crash in Philadelphia, USA. Some users falsely attributed this incident to an alleged Indian attack on Karachi.
The BBC further reported that several Indian media outlets also published this false news; however, one Indian outlet rejected the claim entirely, providing substantial evidence to refute it.
