AT Kabul: China has donated a total of 66,000 vaccine doses to Afghanistan, including 33,000 doses of influenza vaccine and 33,000 doses of meningitis vaccine, the Ministry of Public Health announced on Monday.
The donation was formally handed over during an official ceremony attended by senior officials from both countries. Abdul Wali Haqqani, Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister for Public Health for Service Delivery, expressed gratitude for China’s continued support and emphasized the importance of efficient customs procedures to maintain vaccine quality during transport and import.
Representative of Chinese government reaffirmed China’s long-term commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s healthcare system. He noted that the assistance is part of a broader initiative and is expected to expand into other sectors in the near future.
This latest donation underscores ongoing cooperation between China and Afghanistan in the field of public health and reflects China’s broader humanitarian engagement in the region.
