AT Kabul: Iran’s overnight missile strikes on Israel have left at least 10 people dead, and injured more than 200 others, according to Israeli media reports. The assault, which took place late on June 14, marks one of the most serious escalations in the ongoing hostilities between the two countries.
Israeli authorities stated that the missile barrage, carried out in two waves, struck multiple cities and non-military zones, intensifying damage and fear across civilian areas. At least 35 individuals remain missing in the aftermath of the strikes.
Accusing Tehran of deliberately targeting civilians, Israeli sources described the attack as a “severe breach of international norms.” Images emerging from the affected regions show widespread destruction in residential neighborhoods, as emergency teams continue to search through debris.
In response, Israel launched a series of retaliatory strikes targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Israeli officials claim the operations are part of a broader effort to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and to disrupt what they described as “the most dangerous terrorist regime in the world.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the missile attacks, calling the events “extremely tragic and difficult” for the people of Israel.
“Our hearts go out to the families who lost loved ones,” Herzog said in a statement. “We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and for the safe return of those still missing. Israel will continue to take all necessary measures to protect its citizens.”
The international community has responded with growing alarm. Calls for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic efforts have intensified, though little progress has been made. Global leaders have urged both nations to step back from the brink as fears of a broader regional war mount.
