Kabul: Former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai met UN deputy representative to Afghanistan Potzel Markus on Monday to discuss pressing issues affecting the people of Afghanistan.

In this meeting both sides stressed on the reopening of educational centers for women and girls across Afghanistan and the return of women to work while discussing the current situation in Afghanistan and the region.

The former president also emphasized the need for initiation of national discourse as an important and vital thing to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country.
