Kabul: The Salang highway, connecting Kabul with Northern provinces, has been closed for cargo trucks due to heavy snowfall, an official said on Sunday.

The Maintenance department of Salang says that due to the snowfall, the Salang highway is blocked for high-tonnage vehicles.

According to this directorate, since last night Salang has been witnessing heavy snowfall, but passenger cars are moving normally.
