Senior govt official reportedly held on adultery charges in Herat

AT-KABUL: A senior government official was detained on adultery charges in western Herat province, reports said Monday.

Khama Press quoted a number of sources as saying that the acting district chief of Shindand with the assistance of his bodyguards entered a house and sexually abused a woman there.

The acting district chief was reportedly drunk when he broke into the house and forcefully abused a woman.

The source also said that police has received assistance from local residents to arrest the district chief who is currently behind the bars.
