KABUL: Taliban designated-shadow district governor for Lalpur district of eastern Nangarhar province was killed in raid conducted by the Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security.

A statement from provincial government media office said Sunday Sher Zaman was killed along with his one comrade while two others were detained during a raid of the NDS Special Forces on Saturday night.

The operatives of the NDS also seized some weapons, munitions, and drugs during the raid, said the statement.

So far the Taliban group did not comment over the incident.
