AT-KABUL: The interior ministry says a Taliban attack in western Farah province was pushed back by security forces, killing ten Taliban and wounding seven others.
Taliban fighters attacked checkpoints in the center of Farah province late Monday, where shortly after the attack, the security forces triggered counter offensive, the ministry said in a statement.
“10 rebels were killed and seven others were wounded after minutes of clashes.”
“Insurgents’ weapons and ammunition left in battle site were also seized by Afghan forces in the province,” it added.
No police was harmed in the incident, according to the statement.
Farah is one of the western insecurity provinces, where Taliban commonly struggle to conduct attack over check posts in the province.
