Thirteen Daesh fighters, five cops killed in Nangarhar

AT-KABUL: As many as 13 Daesh fighters and five policemen were killed in a Daesh group attack in eastern Nangarhar province, said officials.

“Daesh fighter conducted group attack over Haska Mina district in Nangarhar on Friday night,” Provincial Spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told Afghanistan Times.

He said that after the attack police started retaliation firing which as result 13 Daesh fighter and five police including district police chief were killed in the incident.

Five Daesh and six policemen were also wounded in the incident, he added.

Shortly after the attack, additional troops were sent to the district and currently area is under police control.
